Repair
Fortunately, the windows used in airplane cabins and cockpits are design to last the duration of the aircraft’s usable life, so cracked, chipped or cloudy transparencies can often be repaired. Our FAA certified mobile technician will travel to your location in Provo or throughout Utah, Wyoming or Idaho to determine whether the damage requires repair or replacement.
The tech will evaluate the overall integrity of the transparency and measure the depth of any cracks or chips. Superficial scratches that are causing hazing or cloudiness can often be buffed out with window polishing, but a window with a deep chip or crack will need to be replaced.
After completing any needed repairs or polishing, your technician will perform another inspection and then give you a certificate for the work.
Replacement
If a window or windshield has a deep gouge, chip or crack, it will need to be replaced. Our FAA certified mobile technician will travel to your hangar in the Provo area, remove the old window and install a new one.
Lee Aerospace provides a wide range of replacement windows for many common airplane manufacturers. Be sure to ask if our newest offerings, heated windshields and CoolView windows, are available for your aircraft. Once the new window is installed, your technician will perform the required follow-up inspection and get you back in the air quickly.
Inspection
If you’re preparing to buy or sell an aircraft, schedule a pre-buy inspection with one of our FAA/EASA certified technicians. Both buyer and seller will receive a qualified assessment of the current condition of the plane’s transparencies, along with any wear and tear or damage that could result in costly future repairs.
Our team is located around the world and available 24/7, so you can schedule in inspection anywhere across the globe and your technician will be there within 24 hours. The mobile tech will travel wherever the plane is located to perform the inspection, which includes examining the windshield, cabin windows and the cockpit side windows. Your technician will evaluate the transparencies’ integrity and confirm that they’re all within the acceptable tolerance guidelines established by the manufacturer. Any needed repairs can be completed on-site after the inspection.
Installation
