Repair

Airplane cockpit and cabin windows are designed to last throughout the usable life of an aircraft, so damaged transparencies in many cases. Our FAA certified mobile technician will travel to your location in Greensboro or throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia to assess the issue.

The tech will evaluate the transparency’s overall integrity and the depth of the chip or crack to determine if a repair or replacement is needed. A window that has a deep crack or chip must be replaced, but if there are only superficial scratches, window polishing can often buff them out. This is also an effective solution for removing hazing or cloudiness due to age or improper cleaning.

After your technician completes the needed repairs or polishing, he or she will perform another inspection and then provide you with a certificate for the work.

Replacement

Windshields and windows with deep chips, cracks or gouges must be replaced. Lee Aerospace provides replacement windows for a wide range of airplane manufacturers, including newer types such as CoolView windows and heated windshields. Be sure to ask about these options for your aircraft.

Our FAA certified mobile technician will travel to your hangar in the Greensboro area, remove the old window, install a new one and complete the required follow-up inspection so you can get back in the air as soon as possible.
