Temp-to-Perm Hire

Position Summary

Complete assembly according to process specs and resident planning and blueprint for sheet metal parts.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Blue print reading class required
  • 1 year of Rivet / Sheet Metal Assembly preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred

Problem Solving/Decision Making

Ability to evaluate the wing spar assembly and the components on initial inspection to determine if they are assembly worthy and derive a solution to assembly the wing spar correctly.

Duties and Tasks

  • Verify tooling is correct
  • Load details into tool
  • Load drill bars for drilling
  • Load details into jig for drilling
  • Remove drill bars from tool
  • Remove drilled spar assembly
  • Ream close tolerance holes
  • Inspection of close tolerance
  • Clean and prep for sealing technique
  • Apply appropriate sealant
  • Cleco the sealed assembly together
  • Install fasteners
  • Remove and clean excess sealant from assembly
  • Call for final inspection
  • Call for final inspection
  • Fill out paperwork per the work order per each completed process

Work Environment

  • Air conditioned and heated plant
  • Safety goggles required
  • Protective gloves – anti-vibration and cut resistant required
  • Hearing protection required

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Ability to stand constantly 7 to 9 hours a day
  • Ability to pinch and grip various tools with fingers and hands using pushing and pulling motions 7 to 9 hours  day
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend and stoop 2 to 3 hours a day
  • Ability to reach 5 to 6 hours a day
  • Ability to use vibrating rivet gun for 5 to 6 hours a day
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all times
  • Ability to understand and follow work orders and process specs

Language Skills

Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Additional Requirements or Skills

  • Sealing techniques
  • Applicable measurement instruments
  • Rivet/Sheet Metal Assembly
  • Close Tolerance Reaming
