Temp-to-Perm Hire

Position Summary

Conduct a variety of inspections on inbound materials from vendors, in process and final products for shipping. Accept or reject products based on dimensional requirements and specifications defined by customer and/or internal requirements. Interact internally and externally with other departments and/or customers.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Associates Degree or equivalent desired
  • ASQ Certifications a plus
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
  • 2 years previous work related experience preferred
  • 1 year previous aerospace experience preferred
  • Experience with AS9102 preferred (FAI)
  • Computer skills required: MS Word, Excel, Power Point or other manufacturing software, etc.
  • Experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures

Problem Solving/Decision Making

Ability to determine upon receiving, in-process, and final inspection if an item has been received and is acceptable or reject-able per customer purchase requirements and specifications.

Duties and Tasks

  • Verify requirements of customer purchase orders
  • Follow internal procedures applicable to task being completed
  • Inspection of incoming product to verify conformity
  • Dimensional inspection of detail parts in accordance with customer and specification requirements
  • Input and update database files related to inspection activities as required
  • Generate computer reports as requested by management and/or Crew Chief
  • Maintain, stamp, record inspection dates as required
  • Performing other duties and tasks that may be assigned
  • Assist with the RCCA / PA process as required for continuous product improvement
  • Communicate effectively between Manufacturing and Quality
  • Dimensional inspection of assemblies throughout the manufacturing process
  • Input and update database files related to inspection activities as required
  • Keeping Crew Chiefs and directors informed about the status of work being performed, problems or potential problems as early as possible
  • Follow Lee Aerospace’s attendance policy for attendance, breaks and lunches
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner including but not limited to 5S Activities
  • Write non-conformance reports as applicable for non-conforming product
  • Respect the confidentiality of the company, customer, and personnel information
  • Assist and train/cross-train other employees as requested or needed
  • Create/Review/Buy first articles in net-inspect as required

Work Environment

  • Air conditioned/heated plant (climate controlled facilities)
  • Eye protection required
  • Hearing protection where required

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and/or sit 7 to 9 hours a day
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to pinch and grip various tools with hands and fingers 6 to 7 hours a day
  • Ability to climb step stool or ladder
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all times – Internally and Externally
  • Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, processes, work orders and blueprints
  • Meet eye exam requirements

Language Skills

Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and process specs and follow directions.

Additional Requirements or Skills

  • Ability to use precision measuring devices
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, MBD/DPD preferred
  • Ability to use computer database and files
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance skills required
